Taz-Mania (Mega Drive) – Free and unblocked game (NO ROM) to play online
Taz-Mania is a 2D side-scrolling platformer published by Sega for the Genesis in 1992. It features Taz the Tasmanian Devil (of Looney Tunes fame) and his wild spinning adventures.
Taz-Mania has a simple plot that involves Taz and his siblings. They were told of a story about prehistoric giant seabirds that ruled over Tasmania. These birds lay huge eggs that are enough to feed a family for an entire year. This prompted Taz to go on an adventure in search of one.
The gameplay is like that of a typical side-scrolling platformer. Taz goes through a quest throughout different environments such as hostile jungles, arid deserts, factories, and caves. Each environment has a couple of levels and a boss at the end.
The game has the standard platforming moves. While you’re going through the various environments, you’ll be doing a lot of jumping to avoid enemies. You’ll also be collecting items for energy and extra lives. You can jump on top on most enemies’ heads to cause damage or to simply get rid of them.
It’s generally easy to control Taz. Jumping, spinning, eating—all of these actions can effortlessly be carried out. The smooth controls is especially helpful as you try to navigate the mine through an underground mine cart ride. You’ll easily be able to stand and swivel as needed.
Taz-Mania’s visuals are pretty solid. The background is extremely detailed. The characters are bright and cartoony. The character animation is so great that it is like watching a cartoon.

The music, however, is difficult to hear sometimes but the sound effects are top-notch. When you eat a pepper or drink from a water jug, you’ll hear actual chewing and drinking sounds. You can even hear a bouncing sound as you jump around each level.
Taz-Mania is a simple, straightforward game for the Genesis. It has great graphics that avid Taz fans will definitely like. If you like platformers with simple gameplay, this title’s worth checking out. But if you’re looking for a game with great replay value, you won’t find it here. It’s fun to play but playing it once is more than enough to fully appreciate it.
Taz-Mania game has been ported to Mega Drive / Genesis (this version), Master System, Game Gear, Game Boy, Super Nintendo Entertainment System.
