Captain Commando (SNES) – Free and unblocked game (NO ROM) to play online
Captain Commando (AKA キャプテンコマンドー Hepburn: Kyaputen Komandō) is a multiplayer side-scrolling beat ’em up video game developed and published by Capcom in 1991. Then in 1995, Capcom re-released a ported version for the SNES (Super Nintendo Entertainment System). It’s a very good game… Very good!
Captain Commando is set in a futuristic planet Earth (year 2026) that is plagued by crime and violence. The players control the lead characters to fight and defeat their enemies using the eight-way joysticks. The four arrow keys control the characters’ directional movements (forward, backward, toward the background, and away from the background) and the four action keys control their attack movements (attack, jump, grab, and combo). The leads will continue to fight enemies until they face bosses at the end of every level or stage.
On Captain Commando for SNES screen, a vitality meter is displayed to indicate the character’s health or life points. In every stage, there are enemy objects and hidden items that the characters can obtain like weapons dropped by defeated enemies, healing food items in containers, and bonus items for each of the characters. The characters can use the obtained weapons against their enemies and can even mount enemy robots when the characters are able to dismount the enemies riding them.
There are four lead characters that can be controlled by four different players. The main lead is Captain Commando, and the three supporting commandos are Ginzu, Mack and Baby Head. They all team up to fight the alien source of all the crimes that plague the earth—Scumocide. Scumocide is a corrupt mutant who commands his minions to help him take over the universe.
The game is created in raster graphics, but the resolution fits the game so it looks pretty solid. For a game of this caliber, it’s still nice to look at and the images are well-defined (provided that player’s screen fits the game resolution).
For a beat ’em up side-scrolling game, Captain Commando is considered iconic. Right before the game was even released, the name Captain Commando was already used by Capcom USA as their fictional spokesman.
Captain Commando game has been ported to Arcade (original version), Super NES (this version), PlayStation, PS2, Xbox and PSP.
