Mario Party 2 (N64) – Free and unblocked game (NO ROM) to play online
Following the success of Mario Party, Mario Party 2 (AKA マリオパーティ2 Mario Pāti Tsū in Japan) was launched for the N64 console in December 1999, 11 months after the release of Super Smash Bros. Hudson Soft stuck with the original game mechanics, making improvements on its pros and cutting back on its cons.
The first Mario Party revolutionized the typical board game with mini-games, and Mario Party 2 raised its replay value with an addition of 40 new ones and retention of the best ones from the previous game. While as enjoyable as its older counterpart, this game is less repetitive and even simpler. It was followed by Mario Party 3.
It still attracts players with the accessibility it offers, allowing non-gamers to enjoy playing even if it’s their first time to get hold of a game controller. With simple game mechanics and well-explained controls for each mini-game, it’s hard to get confused when playing Mario Party 2.
The developers even added a practice feature for the more confusing mini-games, allowing players to test them out before they officially begin playing. Stealing stars was turned into a limited event where they have to encounter Boo instead of simply winning a mini-game.
Mario Party 2 is heavily-dependent on luck and a bit of strategy, as you can buy or earn items from shops or mini-games to earn an edge against your opponents. The randomly placed Boos and Bowsers also level up the excitement of play, awarding players with the bonus stars or penalties.
The second installment of Mario Party
The boards are now themed and the characters even change their costumes according to which one you pick. There are five main themes available to choose from and another one is unlocked by beating the game. The music also changes to fit the current board’s theme. It provides an ambient experience for players.
The game’s graphics are of similar quality to the first Mario Party because it uses the same processor. When playing mini-games, however, Mario Party 2’s graphics become noticeably sharper. Overall, it gives off the same charm as any game featuring Nintendo’s famous characters.
Mario Party 2 delivers the same co-op gaming experience while improving on its predecessor. It serves as a good venue for socialization and bonding with your buddies.
Mario Party 2 game has been ported to Nintendo 64 and Virtual Console.
