Metal Gear (NES)
Metal Gear (AKA MG or メタルギア Metaru Gia) is a military action-adventure stealth game developed by Konami and released, first on MSX2 and then for the Nintendo Entertainment System in 1987. It was the first video game designed by Hideo Kojima, responsible of the MG saga.
This game is designed for gamers who want to experience the challenges faced by soldiers. The main goal is to penetrate the place where hostages are located. However, the challenge is to destroy the nuclear weapons called Metal Gear in order to make sure that the hostages are safe. After each level, it’s hard not to continue playing the sequel. With story sections shown in text, you can easily familiarize yourself with the game mechanics.
From a top-down perspective, Metal Gear for the NES presents an action-packed game with stealth graphics to help players kill enemies as they rescue the hostages. At the bottom of the screen, you will find a number of stars to determine your class as well as a red bar for your life. If you can rescue hostages, you will automatically increase your life bar and stars for higher class. There are also items and weapons you can use to overcome game challenges including mines, infrared goggles, and keycards.
The battle you have to endure with Metal Gear is truly an amazing experience for players. The thought-provoking situations will keep you hooked on the game. Plus, the NES console is a popular brand for gamers worldwide. This video game is amazing!
Metal Gear has been ported to Nintendo NES (this version), MSX2 (original), MS-DOS and Commodore 64. But, as we always say, you can play it online, on Emulator Online!
