Plants vs. Zombies (NDS)
Plants vs. Zombies (AKA 「植物 vs. ゾンビ」の意、邦題は『プラント vs. ゾンビ』 in Japan) is a strategy / tower defense game developed by Popcap Games for the Nintendo DS (NDS) console in 2011. This game is… simply addictive. Every player will find it interesting for several reasons.
The graphics for this game are good, the only problem is that everything appears too compacted on the screen. You will notice the issue when you start choosing your plants and grow them on the battleground. Though the images are tiny, still it does not affect the gameplay because of the super-efficient stylus controls. No changes made for its background music and sound effects.
Plants vs. Zombies for the NDS has several modes, namely:
- Adventure mode
- Puzzle mode (excluding the Last Stand)
- Versus Mode
- Survival Mode
- Zen Garden
This game has everything, except for the cooperative play mode. Another great thing is that you can use the top screen of your NDS to show movies, images, and the details of your progress. The gameplay is quite simple as you just need to plant more plants that will stop and kill the zombies. You can tweak the changes and customize the multiplayer mode.
As usual, the Adventure Mode is the game’s highlight, but the mini-games create more fun. The competitive mode is also great though it supports local play only. Therefore, one player will control the enemies (zombies) and the other will take care of the flowers and shrubs.
Plants vs. Zombies on NDS has a stylus control that is as useful as the computer mouse. The learning curve is also insignificant for this one. It is easy to play, and you can finish each level in just a few minutes.
- Better than other similar games
- With a basic interface and pleasing presentation
- More levels to unlock
- This version is more expensive than the iOS version
- Slightly poor graphics due to slowdown and animation issues
Plants vs. Zombies is certainly a perfect game for your Nintendo DS. It has perfect controls and good gameplay just like the game’s original version. Most gamers recommend it to other DS users because it adds thrill to casual gaming. Though this game does not run well on the NDS, it still stands out for its loads of game modes and charm. Overall, it is a good game for teens and adults alike.
Plants vs. Zombies game has been ported to Microsoft Windows, Xbox 360, Xbox One, Windows Phone, Mac OS, iOS, Android, PlayStation 3, PlayStation Vita, Steam OS, Nintendo DS (this version), Nintendo 3DS, Google Chrome.
