Contra: Hard Corps (Mega Drive) – Free and unblocked game (NO ROM) to play online
Contra: Hard Corps (AKA Contra: The Hard Cops or Probotector en Europe and 魂斗羅 ザ・ハードコア Kontora Za Hādokoa in Japan) is a 2D side-scrolling run and gun video game developed and released by Konami for the Sega Genesis in 1994. The game is set five years after the plot of Contra III: Alien Wars. Instead of Lance Bean and Bill Rizer as the protagonists, a new special task force is assembled called the Hard Corps.
In 2641, the Contra Hard Corps has been formed to fight the rapid spread of illegal activities and crime following the war. An unknown hacker moves in and infiltrates security systems. This anonymous individual reprograms unmanned robots to wreak havoc. The Hard Corps is sent in to handle the chaotic situations.
The game’s objective for each stage is to kill every enemy to clear the level. Each stage has a final boss at the end; you have to destroy this mob in order to proceed. In most stages, the player walks on foot, but there are certain levels that require the player to ride a hoverbike or a motorcycle that can transform into robots. BTW, no need to turn your Genesis on to play this amazing game, you can do it online at the top of the page!
Unlike other Contra games which features some pseudo-3D visuals, this version incorporates the original side-scrolling format for all of its levels. Another dissimilarity is that you can now choose between four unique players. Contra: Hard Corps can be played for up to four people, but they cannot choose the same character.

If you played Contra 3 before, then you would find the controls for Hard Corps familiar. The three primary button is utilized for changing weapons, jumping, and shooting. You can configure them in the game’s settings. In the Genesis version, two shooting styles are available, and a sliding technique for the player is included. The first style is shooting with free movement, and the second one is fixed shooting. The former gives you great flexibility while the latter provides precision to your aims.
Contra: Hard Corps is so similar to the previous Contra games in terms of gameplay, music, and visuals. But it has new features like the ability of the player to carry four different weapons, the incorporation of the sliding technique, and the player now starts off with a machine gun instead of a standard rifle. The upgrades or are still acquired from flying capsules, and the game still features the same upgrading system. But, overall, Contra: Hard Corps for the Genesis is a more exciting version than its previous counterparts when it comes to sound, story, and action.
One of the best run and gun games ever. Thank you, Konami!
