Crash Bandicoot: The Huge Adventure (GBA) – Free and unblocked game (NO ROM) to play online

Crash Bandicoot: The Huge Adventure (AKA Crash Bandicoot XS, クラッシュ・バンディクー アドバンス – Kurasshu Bandikū Adobansu in Japan) is a 2D side-scrolling adventure platform video game developed by Vicarious Visions and published by Universal Pictures for the GBA console in 2002.

Crash Bandicoot fans know and love this game originally on the PlayStation. This is why when it was first announced that Crash Bandicoot: The Huge Adventure will be for the Game Boy Advance, there was a lot of skepticism whether the console can keep up with the high-polygon processing as seen in the original. Fortunately, the developer for the game was Vicarious Visions, the same team that worked on Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater for the GBA which went on to become a success. And overall, they delivered the same result with The Huge Adventure in terms of porting the gameplay.

In Crash Bandicoot: The Huge Adventure, the player will once again go up against Dr. Neo Cortex who has shrunk the Earth. Crash needs to collect crystals for Coco in order to reverse the effects.

What’s great about The Huge Adventure is that it is not linear so to speak. There are five different levels and the player can choose which level to play and in any order as long as all the purple crystals are collected.

Going through the levels, players would notice that there are two main game mechanics—the traditional side scrolling sequence and the third-person shooter mode. In the first mode, you can perform all of Crash’s familiar attacks such as the spin and the butt-stomp. More and more moves become available as the player progress through the different boss stages.

Another notable feature during the side scrolling stages is the chases. Occasionally, the player would have to run away from a beast running after the protagonist and dodge different obstacles in order to beat that part of the game.

During third-person shooter mode, Crash is equipped with a jet pack and the player’s view is positioned behind the protagonist. Here, the player simply shoots at parachuting bombs and make sure that Crash survives the ordeal.

With different play styles mixed in, Crash Bandicoot: The Huge Adventure makes up for the relatively low graphics as compared to the original game. It offers a new perspective in the franchise and players get to take Crash along with them in their pockets.

Crash Bandicoot: The Huge Adventure game has only been ported to the Game Boy Advance.
